Food-grade guar gum
Food applications generally place greater emphasis on food-contact suitability, defined additive or food standards, microbiological control, traceability and documentation. Buyers should state the destination market because permitted uses and documentation can differ.
Industrial or technical grades
Industrial applications can prioritise viscosity, rheology, dispersion, water retention, print performance or other functional behaviour. The relevant specification may therefore differ materially from a food-grade requirement.
Why the grades should not be mixed
A technical grade that performs well in an industrial application does not automatically satisfy a food or pharmaceutical specification. Conversely, a food-grade product may be technically unsuitable for a specialised industrial process if the required functional parameters are different.
What to include in the RFQ
State the intended application, grade, viscosity requirement and test method, mesh, moisture, microbiological limits, required certificates, quantity, packaging and destination. That gives the exporter enough information to source an appropriate lot rather than sending a generic sample.
Kinshiv’s role
Kinshiv coordinates sourcing and export documentation between the buyer and qualified processing partners. The commercial specification is agreed before the shipment is finalised, and product claims should be supported by the documents available for that lot.
